My 11-year-old son, who weighs 70 pounds has been on 40 mg. of Straterra. It has been 4 full weeks since he started the medication. He has been on Adderal, Concerta, and Metadate CD in the past. Each medication eventually stopped working. On the Straterra, the first and third week he was horrendous at home. His second week on it, he was awesome at home. The fourth week was a mixture of really good and really bad. At school, though, he has been unable to concentrate at all, has been in trouble for talking, not keeping his hands to himself and leaving the room without permission. He is constantly fidgeting and none of this has improved in the last 4 weeks. We go back to the Dr. in a week and I don't know what we should do. I love that my son is now getting to sleep on time and has gained weight. On the other meds he didn't get to sleep until at least 11 at night and only gained a pound in around a year's time. I know Straterra dosage is based on weight, but has anyone had the dosage increased a little over what is recommended for the weight and seen an improvement? Has anyone had an experience like what we've had and still eventually seen an improvement? I feel so bad about what is happening in school and my son's grades have gone down a huge amount. I don't know what to do. Thanks for any advice!

I would like to know what kind/how much fish oil too? My son had bad reactions to adderal xr and also guanfacine. We meet with our doctor again on 5/12 and he wants to discuss both straterra and wellbuterin as possible next choices. I'm just really curious about the fish oil products. Thanks
