See lots of posts about Wellbutrin for ADD. Was just diag. at 44 with ADD. Went threw the different meds. for depression before the diag. Zoloft was the last one and I'm still on it along with Ritalin now. Was wondering if it would be better to go back to the Wellbutrin. Not sure if the Zoloft is helping.
Please allow me to enlighten. When Wellbutrin FIRST came out, I was on Zoloft. My husband was given Wellbutrin to help stop smoking (it is a side effect). When I asked the doctor what the difference was betweem Zoloft and Wellbutrin, I was told that Wellbutrin is the GENERIC of Zoloft. So, you see, you would be taking the same drug. There may be a limited number of differences. However, if you feel you did well on Wellbutrin and aren't doing well on Zoloft, the difference could be the Ritalin. Talk to your doctor...I hope it is the same one prescribing both medications.
Please let me enlighten you and your doctor:

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs): First line of choice. Block serotonin receptors on nerve cells in the brain (e.g., fluoxetine [Prozac], paroxetine [Paxil], sertraline [Zoloft]), citalopram [Celexa]).

Dopamine reuptake inhibitor: Bupropion (Wellbutrin).

Alpha-2 antagonist: Mirtazapine (Remeron); serotonin reuptake inhibibitor/antagonist: nefazodone (Serzone); rotonin/norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor: venlafaxine (Effexor).

I would change doctors if I was you....lol
I did change doctors! The doctor that diag. the ADHD specilizes in it. The old one didn't have a clue. Problem is, the new doctor is so busy I have to wait 2 months to get a 2nd appointment. In the mean time, I've got a cabinet full of drugs and I'm on my own trying to figure which ones work for the ADHD. The 1st. appointment with the new doctor got me the Ritalin but I'm not so sure it's helping. Soooo....I'm back on the Welbutrin and cutting back on the Zoloft. Today has been the first day in 2 weeks I've felt good. Maybe I'm on the right track? The only other time I felt "great" and was really able to focus and start/stop projects was with Percoset. They should really do a study with that.

I was on Zoloft with Adderall for a few weeks and it intensified depression and I kept hearing things that wern't there. Felt very disconnected from reality. It was scary. But I hear Wellbutrin and Adderall work well together. I, personally, am forever done with Adderall! Hope you get it all figured out!
