I'm re-visiting ADHD (PI). I worked with my GP a few years back, the treatment including an attempt at 20mg Adderall but which then moved (because it was ineffective) through Ritalin, Vyvnase, and Concerta. None of those others had any effect either, which is why I gave up. I am male, 50, 5'8", and at 270lbs I'm a big guy.

This time I'm working with a psychiatrist. He's prescribed Adderall again but with a view to not stopping too soon in case maybe I need a bigger dose. He started me on 20mg twice a day, but he's happy for me to titrate up over the holidays to as high as 60mg a day, and that can even be in a single dose in the morning if I want. Today I'm at 40mg morning and then 10mg in the afternoon.

So far I feel *absolutely nothing*. Has anyone else been prescribed these higher doses and had the same lack of effects? Has anyone had to go as high (higher even?) than 60mg to see an attention-helping impact?

You should have felt something, easier focus, less scatterdness, something, anything, on a dosage that high, even though you're big, your brain is the same size as anybody's and should have responded to what did reach it. I had the same experience with the Ritalin side of the equation; NOTHING. Except a head cold. THat was IT, so I dropped it and we went to Adderall: I was saved.

There are more drugs that help our problems out there than Adderall. I think your doc is hoping some of your weight will come off, so he's keeping your on it, but if even the physical effects (there can be many, mine are all good because I have fibromyalgia and desperately need a small boost) are not happening, then complain. Some people just have atypical reactions to drugs. It's not our fault or doing, and taking a drug we don't need and doesn't help us is pointless and often dangerous.

Blow off the Adderall. You can stop it any time you want; though on that dose you may want to cut it over a few days.

Hopes you'll find something that works, which you can feel the improved symptoms of,

Willow
