... oddly enough I am currently taking 1000mg of depakote for bipolar disorder and also take adderall xr and I have been fine. Many anticonvulsants are used to treat bipolar as a mood stabilizer since it prevents the neurons in our brain from firing too fast. ... (2 replies)

... Hi, our now 13 year old son has been on Depakote for 9 years for seizure control, along with Ritalin, and Concerta ( Currently ) No problem with drug interaction. What type of anti-convulsant med and doseage is your son currently taking ? (2 replies)

I was talking to my 7 year old DD's neurologist (she see's her for epilepsy) about my almost 12 year old DD's ADHD and the fact that she is on 30mg of Ritalin - 3 x a day and still has a hard time to focus and stay on task. ... I agree. I only take/took it with soda because the fizziness of the carbonation sort of numbs my mouth, so I can't taste the actual Vyvanse. And speaking of taking it with soda... I tried taking it with water this morning. Couldn't do it. My gag reflexes are just too bad. And, feeling pressured to get out the door for school in time this morning, I just took it with Coke...
