... I'm confused. You have "tolerance" after a month? How can you tell? I've been on the same dose for 3 years. Pup (9 replies)
... Your points about bodymass, tolerance and everybody reacting different all quite true. Still 100mgs seems like alot to me and 240mg's seems extremely high. ... (3 replies)
... Ive recently started taking adderoll. I had the same thing almost. I started taking it and I was totally wired. I did so much throughout the day I was exhausted but didn't feel "tired" but I could tell that I was. I think you probably know what I mean. The next day was same thing only worse yet. The next day I decided to hell with this I'm gonna lay off for a while. I didn't... (2 replies)

... This is the downregualtion of brain receptors that can gradually occur when certain receptors are artificially and sometimes overstimulated with chemicals. Downregulation is a desensitization or sometimes cell death of those receptors. This is what most call tolerance. Higher doses or sometimes different drugs may help but the same cycle can continue intil one may reach the... (16 replies)
Adderall question

... This is what you need to know about taking taking stimulants. When you first start taking them - or when you increase the dose - they give you a lovely sense of wellbeing. Unfortunately, it doesn't last. It can't last. It won't last. Persuing that feeling of I "felt great" is a slippery slope to addiction. So what do you do? You have to figure out how to objectively... ... Finding the right dosage of medicine is the key. With the stimulants there seems to be a therapuetic window. If the stimulant dosage is to low, lack of effect, to high and the side effects are troublesome. Higher doses of medicine are not always better. Perhaps a lower dose of medicine is better than no medicine at all. I think people need to try and get bye on the lowest... (17 replies)
... Crushing it probably wouldn't make a difference (just not the XR version FYI. It would). I've crushed mine, let it desolve in my mouth before swallowing (only because I poped one without realizing I didn't have a bottle of water handy) and i didn't see any difference in effect either way I took it. I'm not sure about the 10 -vs- .5x15 phenomonon you described. I hate to... (4 replies)

... But, drugs will change brain functions, cause downregulation of receptors, cause dependancy, addictions, tolerance and withdrawals. ... (13 replies)
... Hi there, yes, I remember your post about your heart attack awhile back, I think it's important you continue to tell people because alot of people, especially due to tolerance, may end up on larger doses but still feel they are safe because the dose is within the realm of what a doctor can legally write on a prescription pad! Amphetamine is Amphetamine, legality really has... (29 replies)
... The dose has to be increased for everyone though not just children. After awhile you build up a tolerance and need to have the dose raised to get the same effect. ... (4 replies)
... Why would you need a "drug holiday", especially at a low dosage? Our specialist has recommended NOT going on, then off, then on at such doses as there is (apparantly) as much research indicating that you build tolerance just as quickly on a weekon/weekend off basis. In addition, he said some of the side effects would be heightened (which is true for Z). If Z isn't... (6 replies)
... seems extremely slow. Doctors should progress slowly so you take the least amount of mediaction you need to get the desired results. That way when you build up a tolerance they can raise it to help you. Age and weight have nothing to do with how much medication you are given though. ... (4 replies)
... I have been using it for four and a half years now and have not noticed any long term side affects. I occasionaly build up a tolerance but when that comes I usually take a break for a few months. Through breaks like this I have stayed at 30mg. ... (5 replies)
... If you notice a decreased effect from a certain dosage, taking periodic breaks from the drug is the easiest way to stop tolerance and allow someone to stay on a low effective dosage indefinitely. ... (5 replies)
... for spring break..and a few days before that when i was sick... i didn't take my adderol @ all... and after not using itfor almost 2 weeks... when i used my regular 40mg dose i noticed a hUGE difference... but i also didn't take it during that time.. so i would have noticed something when i took it anyways... but it felt noticably stronger when i got back on it -- comparing it...
