... stimulants. If I give him more than the morning ritalin dose he will develop tics, not eat or sleep and have even worse rebound. Whenever I attempt to try the concerta again we get the same patterns. It is so frustrating and sad, because the ability of my son on ritalin is so different than without. There is no comparison. ... ... Howdy ! I am a 40 year old who was diagnosed as having ADHD. I haven't been on any meds for over 30 years, and decided it was time to go back on them. Driving myself and everyone else crazy with my insatiable energy drive, incessant chattering, interrupting, and my flux in attention in my college courses prompted me to go to the doc. The first doc I went to prescribed 80 ml... (2 replies)

... Thank you for your post index. I've been crying for two days now. Wondering if I'm doing the right thing and then crying because I didn't do this sooner. I haven't looked at your posts here, but I think I saw that your son is taking Adderall? Any tips on what to watch for? I know I'll be watching for any tics. He had them in the past (when he was 6) when he was taking Ritalin... (33 replies)

... homeopathy works safely, gently and without the horrible side effects such as tics, lupus, psychois and potentially suicide. taking a homeopathic remedy, as it is called, will not be a life long thing. this is not the case with adderrall, concerta, ritalin. these substances are safe-much safer than the poison of amphetamines. let me ask. do you wonder if the... ... My almost 10 yo has the same disorders. She takes concerta and clonidine for the ADHD and tics (respectively). Also the clonidine cuts the over-focussing a little bit of the OCD. One wonderful thing about these disorders is their variability-- just when you get used to one, it'll change. My daughter used to pick holes in her skin and pull out her hair. Thankfully, those... ... o and has been on Strattera since March of this year. It seems to work well according to my son, but I don't see that it helps much. He is also taking Concerta 27 mg each morning also. This seems to work pretty well, but his tics are increased. But that is another long story. ... (128 replies)

... hello My son is now close to two months. We are struggling w/ the AM PM thing we went to bedtime about three weeks ago and noticed that it seemed to be wearing off late afternoon. Just two days ago we tried morning again and he was out most of the morning. We are loking at going 20mg am 20 pm. Our pshycologist recommended going up to 60 and perhaps it wouldn't wear off... ... hat you had some good luck with it. I hate all these meds, but without them, my son does not do all that well in school. He had a complete turn around with the Concerta and did extremely well both at home and school, but the tics kept getting worse. ... (14 replies)
... Chippie, Thanks for the reply. As you can see from my previous post we are trying concerta/strattera combo, with low dose of risperdal for the tics. I definitely want to talk to the neurologist about the wellbutrin though because my son also has a lot of anxiety as well and it sounds as though it may have been helpful with your son. Case in point I took my son to his... (10 replies)
