... I would like to hear from anyone thats child started off very tired and lifeless, didn't want to play once the strattera kicked in and then even upped the dose to 40 mgs (9 1/2 70 lbs.) but then after 3 or more weeks all the BAD side effects went away? ... How badly does your son "need" to be drugged? You said that he eats M&M's. Didn't his doctor recommend an elimination diet before prescribing drugs for him? If he didn't, that's incredibly irresponsible. It's common knowledge that sugar, caffeine, artificial food additives, preservatives and colorants can cause some children, even adults, to lose focus/concentration, act... (4 replies)

... dolcegator: I am about 31 days on strattera. I have had positive results (see my post of 8/21 "22 successful days of strattera long)). About 3 days ago, I started experiencing something different. I felt "Spaced-out". That is to say that my head felt slightly fat and my vision was slightly blurry (more like glassy). Although my mood is OK, I feel like I am just a little... (7 replies)
... Strattera works on the pathways and builds into the body, unlike the stimulant meds that wear off over a day, Strattera builds up over time. Like Prozac or Zoloft or Paxil does, it takes time to build and it builds a sort of "veil". ... (5 replies)
... y, attention and focus...so thus the conclusion that unfocused brains must be short on dopamine. They aren't even sure about that, or they wouldn't have develped Strattera for ADD ,which doesn't stimulate dopamine. ... (149 replies)

... I started 36mg of Concerta five days ago. I have already tried it once a while back. Along with Ritalin, Adderal and Strattera. It may just be my ADD, but I haven't really noticed anything yet. One thing is for sure, loss of appetite. I never get hungry. I go straight from feeling fine to having a stomach ache from not eating. I also have a set of twins and two... (26 replies)

... Ritalin just doesn't work for me anymore and when it does I get maybe an hour of clarity. But, you have to jump through the strattera hoop before you can get something that works. Probably the Lilly Pharmaceutical company is giving away trips to Hawaii for the doctors who prescribe this stuff. ... (38 replies)

I have noticed my son picking at his lip a lot, but otherwise the Concerta is working a lot better for him than the Strattera, and he's sleeping and eating pretty well. Beckstar, my son is only on 18 mg of Concerta. We tried for a day to do 36 mg (which was supposed to be the target dose), but he... (98 replies)
