... Can you take Ritalin and Paxil, zoloft at the same time. ... (8 replies)
... justdivin, it sounds like we share a lot of the same traits. It's funny, because I was just thinking about how it wouldn't be so bad if my employer changes health insurance plans again this June, because it would be a graceful excuse for changing psychiatrists so I could get off most of these meds. I'm taking about 6 kinds of meds now. Different than yours (only 10mg... (5 replies)
... michelle, May I ask why you ask the opinion of doctors and then don't follow through with giving medicine to your daughter? Are all these different doctors under the impression that your daughter is actually trying these drugs and they don't work? I'm sure you are trying your best to find an answer for your daughter, but please keep in mind that all of the disorders that... (7 replies)

... gnosed with a different mental illness each time. The current diagnosis, which is the second doctor to say this is, adhd with depression. She is currently taking zoloft and it has worked for her tantrums and irritability. she is still very hyperactive and is having difficulty concentrating at school. She is also very defiant. ... ... Lexapro is a newer SSRI that is more sedating. Remeron is a different type of antidepressant that is very sedating. Actually, no, paxil is prescribed as an antidepressant, too. Yes, this definitely can happen. Shrinks jokingly call it "Prozac Poop-out" although it happens with other drugs as well. Good luck to you, Alyna. (7 replies)
... I may try paxil as I think it is specifically for anxiety where I think zoloft is for both anxiety and depression. I finished my period today and boy what a difference! I am feeling so much better so I know it was the hormones. ... (7 replies)
... I was thinking of trying to switch over to paxil, but I'm not sure I've heard of some nasty side effects. I'm not even sure how to find a psychiatrist in my group of doctors, but I will try. Someone mentioned going on Birth control again to regulate my hormones. who knows! (7 replies)
... The first thing that I'd recommend to you is that you get a referral to a psychiatrist. They have *so* much more knowledge about these meds than do a family practitioner. Likewise, I'd discuss the hormone issues with a GYN. You don't want to hear this, but there is a very good chance that the Concerta is increasing your anxiety and making you more irritable. I know that,... (7 replies)

... o many different kinds of these medicians out there. it may take fine tuning and experimenting before you find the right doses and combinations. Right now I'm on zoloft 200mg for anxiety and concerta and I'm thinking of upping the concerta when I'm not pmsing and then taking the concerta away and adding xannax when I'm pmsing. ... (5 replies)
... or but I did. I had tried ritalin before but my body metabolized it too fast, it made me OVERFOCUS on one thing. That was four years ago, since then I've been on zoloft for anxiety and depression, sometimes xanax. however I wasn't depressed I was just angry all the time. ... (4 replies)
... Someone asked me if I was ADD a couple weeks ago and it had me really concerned. I went to the doctor and they said I had depression. Have given me Zoloft tablets which are making me really sleepy and I still cannot concentrate on my work. I know it hasn't been a long time that I have been on it. ... (8 replies)
... I did tell him about the hydro's - but had already quit at that time. I am now over a week and have lost all cravings but I do not doubt what you are saying - it is very possible it's still wd's. I am not worried about being addicted to the adderall because 1) it is being prescribed by a neurologist after several tests (and still taking them) 2) I actually HAVE adhd so the... (5 replies)
... i started 30 mg of adderall xr about a week ago and it started out great. lately i am SOOOO agitated and annoyed. and moody! i feel worse then i did before! could this be possible or maybe the dosage is wrong? i saw my ob today and she changed my zoloft (which wasn't working anymore) to prozac and upped my bc pills estrogen level. i don't know - i went off the adderall and... Add with anxiety

... Hi KG, welcome to the board! I've seen both the stimulants and Straterra prescribed together with Zoloft. You have to be a little careful of the possibility of the combination "flipping" you over into a manic or hypomanic state, but otherwise they are not contra-indicated together (as best as I can tell). Is Straterra safe? Although I'm a looong way from being... (2 replies)
... Thanks for the compliment. It's a shame you have to take all those pills but at least you are sticking to low dosages. Basically though, the docs have you on uppers and downers. From what I've read, this is the stuff that can later on get you a bi-polar diagnosis, if you don't already have one. It's those high/low brain chemicals that are symptoms of that disease and almost... (13 replies)
... Jennita, what a simple, clear explanation of the side effect & brain reaction! It made sense to me. I always have side effects to everything; drugs never work the same for me as others. It's like my brain has its own anxiety attack when I take something that alters its chemistry. KawaiiGal, I've had ADD, OCD, depression and anxiety all my life, with text-book examples of... ... I've been on zoloft for a year for depression, GAD, and OCD and I also just started Adderall on Thursday of this week for ADD. ... (5 replies)
... Zuess, the sleepiness as a side effect will pass with time. If you aren't already, try taking it at night. That's when my son takes it. As for insisting on a Adderall, I've got to tell you that, in my experience, the LEAST likely way to get a prescription for an addictive, controlled substance is to insist on it. Doctors are going to assume you are a druggie. IMHO, a... (16 replies)
