... Straterra is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, and it's proven by the FDA for AD/HD. However, it probably will be used for depression in some people. Just because he didn't do well on adderall doesn't mean he won't do well on other meds. Everyone responds differently to meds because everyone's biochemistry is different. Try other meds, i.e. ritalin,... (4 replies)
... e do. I have read that somewhere before but I never thought thta this had anything to do with that. But I guess it does. The Dr. put my 57lb 8 yr. old on 25mg of Zoloft and I am not sure I am happy with that. I do not want him to be a zombie. ... (13 replies)
... Hi, I have been taking Adderall for a few years now, and when I started taking it I was also taking Zoloft. I took 100mg for about 6 months, and never gained weight from taking it. I teach at a school for learning different children, many of whom have ADD, and I have noticed that the extended release do not work as well as the regular ritalin or adderall. Were you... ... Have you guys (with psychostimulant side-effects/people with ADD) ever thought of trying fish oil (omega 3's)?? I got diagnosed with ADD when I was 15. I have been prescibed zoloft, buspar, concerta, adderall, ritalin, concerta, clonipin, neurontin and now metadate CD. I probably invented ADD for god's sake. ... i've been on two 1000 MG fish oil capsules a day for five weeks now and I've noticed considerate benefits. i also take a 20 MG metadate dose in the morning. i've noticed reduction in anxiety and increased attention span. fish oil doesn't cure your problems (or make you superman or superwoman) but it significantly helps anxiety and mood eveness. omega 3's won't make you an A... ... Hi Rebecca - My son is now 11. He began meds about the same age after 4-5 yrs of absolute terror - We found he did become more anxious when the dose was too high. In fact we tried the Medadate CD 20 with very poor results recently. I would speak to your doctor about the concerns, read the side effects - more anxiety is one of them, more aggitation. not promoting meds,... (43 replies)

... Hey there methodman, This is rather long, (please be prepared) i must agree with the other respondents here! Taking stimulants for adult ADD/ADHD have nothing to do with feeling high. i also have to admit that when i first started Adderall three weeks ago for my ADHD, i felt slightly euphoric for a couple of days. However, it (euphoria) has pretty much wore off, as... (13 replies)
... I'm new to this forum and have found it very interesting! I'm a 35 yr old female that has been struggling with ADD all my life. Only in recent years has it been addressed. My "new" neurologist just put me on Dexetrine. I have never been on meds for my ADD,except Zoloft. This does not seem to be working very well. I've notice that no one in this forum (at least in the... (3 replies)

He may not be bipolar but this is a guide to how to identify bipolar as well as OCD, CD, RAD, and ADHD. My son was given Adderal, Zoloft, and Welbutrin recently and had a psychotic reaction. We now have to watch for early signs of adolesent on set bipolar, and he... (3 replies)

... Adderall XR mearly means it is extended release adderall. I find it hard to believe that urinary problem was connected to Adderall since he is still taking adderall but just in a different form. Many drugs are now coming out in extended release forms which is great since you don't have to take so many pills in one day. Your note about alcohol and drugs is always timely... (1 replies)

... If the medication is affecting your appitite then by all means be sure you eat before you take your medication. You are an adult and know when meal time is so make it a point to eat normal meals at the regular time. ... Hi, My son was diagnosed with ADD three years ago. My Ex and I have tried Concerta (horrible result..lasted one day), and have been pretty consistent with Adderall.
