Tony . . . Chef's right, Suboxone is for "hard-core" opiate abusers. My husband's on it and was a perfect candidate because he's been to three different treatment centers, attempted suicide, etc. etc. etc. in the last six years. This may be his last chance to live a happy life. He is also involved heavily in AA and NA which like Chef said, you may need because Suboxone alone may not help everyone.

If you're looking for a quick fix from the W/D I think you'll be disappointed. It sounds like Suboxone is best used over long periods of time with a very slow taper. And some will even stay on a lower dose forever, my husband one of them.

Just keep an open mind and know all your options! There are a lot of people on this board who are on the Suboxone who can offer you help! And others who have tried other methods. Good luck!
