Good morning!!
Its so sunny in my new place..no bad vibes of nasty drug/doin'..a fresh start..my old place..was filled with memories of serious debauchery..glad to be outta there..i don't want to mess this place up...or myself..
My computer got dropped during the move so i had to plunk down 400.00 to get a new processor..its like i was having internet withdrawals!!!lol
Yard sale was cool..made about 100.00 bucks..but i had to work so i only did it for a couple hours.Fun though..my husband got really into it..i was laughing listening to his sales schtick..
Lisa..i am so proud of you..you are doing so great..YOU DID IT!!!You are strong and an example to us all..it can be done!!GOOD WORK MAMA!!
Murph..how are ya?I can relate..i gotta have my benzos forever..no abuse here..serious panic/anxiety issues..like michelle too..we need this med..or face staying indoors the rest of our lives.
Suboxone is a God*send but its gonna be a ball*buster getting off it*cos i tried and couldn't deal..it might have been too early for me..but i was non*functioning for 2 weeks..and it wasn't ending anytime soon.
I get the sedation thing at night too..burnt my fave sweater w/ a cigg..but Michelle what are you gonna do?Can you change from xanax to ativan..shorter acting benzo??Whats w/ the legal issues?
Murph..what does your dr. say?You are on Klonopin..my dR. isn't psyched for my benzo thing either..but my psychopharm said..at a low dose its ok.
I take1*2 mgs a day of ativan for PTSD/anxiety/panic disorder.
Also..has anyone put on weight since using suboxone..ive gained 10 lbs.
Also* the numbness in my hands is truly weird..circulation?Whats in this stuff?
Michelle..definitely talk to your dr...im worried for you.How long have you been on xanax?
This is gonna sound strange..but..im off the hard stuff..but now on all this other medication..When will it end?
Love to all...
Heather
just checkin in sadsis.....on the benzo subject when i was on buprenex the doc also had me takin serax/restoril...the effects were stronger for me on the serax and if i took any xanax, man i could feel the full punch of those guys,1mg or 2mg......but a warning...one time i ran out of my buprenex and took only the serax and restoril to help me sleep cause i felt like i was starting the w/d's...i went to a 7/11 to get my kids a soda and that was the last thing i remeber...i was arrested standing at the side of the road next to my truck,i was in never/never land...i had went into a drug physcosis being in w/d's from the bupe and taking a couple extra serax and restoril....bad,bad news...it was the worst experience of my life...got thrown in jail for dui(which i ended up beating)but i could have killed someone...it was a weird experience that drug physcosis...i remeber at the e.r. telling the doc i was on bupenorphine and she told me i shouldnt be takin that, she wasnt very informed about the drug since it wasnt even available here in the states except at two clinics in the whole u.s. of a.anyways, moral of the story is watch what other types of med you take with the subutex/suboxone and really watch if you are maybe out of the bupe and are takin benzos.....chef

Hi to you all!
You are all doing great but you have to face up to the fact of the greatest challenge yet - getting off the benzo - be it klonopin or xanax. No, you do not not need them for the rest of your lives - for goodness sake! - altho the pharmas and docs would love this!
You have done so well to date - but you still have to come of the awful benzos - and this will be your greatest challenge yet. I have done it. Took me 10 months to come off 3 mg ativan - but it is so worth it. Opiates is just a doddle in comparison - not wishing to depress! But you have to do it for freedom and to join the human race again as a full member Opiates takes a week or so, but benzos takes months................... are you up to the challenge?
Hope you are!
To Lisa - well done - you are free! Dont ever accept a benzo from your doctor!

Yinsky,
Why do I have to face the greatest challenge yet of getting off klonopin?
It is prescribed by a knowledgeable Dr. who I have known for 15 years.
He knows my history.
He knows my panic/anxiety/seizure activities.
I have benefited from klonopin.
It has had no adverse side affects.
I take one at night.
My body is dependent on them.
But why are you telling me that I HAVE to get off of them?
I consider myself very much part of the human race - a fullmember.
I have no intention of ever getting off.
Why go through the torture of withdrawal when I have really have no positive reason to get off of benzos.
For those who are abusing and it has affect their life negatively, I can understand.
But for those who need it out of medical necessity, and it has given you the chance to be part of life again, whereas before, it was oh so difficuult, whoare you going to listen to, Yinksy - or your psychiatrist/own assessment?
If your benzos are helping you and your life has not become unmanageable becasue of your takking them; there is no need to get off. Because your body is physically dependenent uponn themn; that is no good reason.
Your body is physically dependent on insulin if you have diabetes; would you go off of that? Soome of us may need to take antidepressants; your whole life.
Or maybe you can get off of it so not to be a slave to any drug, get real depressed clinically, and attempt suicide.
got news for ya, anidepressants are addictive also and they are a pill.
You have to work with your Dr, to dtermine what meds you need to get off or or not. It's not up to anyone else.

Murph-
Hi..Hope your holiday was good..I hear what your saying.I am on the benzos and other meds for a reason!Otherwise-like my post said i wasn't functioning.
I have psychological issues that LED me to drugs..self medication.
If i had to stay on a benzodiapine for the rest of my life i would..i would love not to have to rely on anything other than myself..but thats not where its at for me right now.
I listen very closly to my Dr. and therapist cos i lucked out and have a great team.
I totally understand your post and thank you for your time to listen and write.
Thats what this board is all about.
Im totally open to others ideas but ultimately it comes down to me and the professionals i am lucky to work with.
Coffee time!
Heather
