DJchriscap,

Welcome & Congratulations! You came to the right place. I am very new here also.

Suboxone/Buprenorphine has helped me tremendously. And I think many people here will agree. I was in full W/D 20 hours after my last handful of Norco (Hydrocodone).

I took my first 4mgs of Suboxone, and within 30 minutes I had no physical W/D symptoms.

Type 'Sub' or 'Suboxone' into the search tool here and you will find a lot of information and support.

I am doing a relatively fast taper from suboxone-- Over a period of 8 months I worked my way up to 150mgs hydro a day.

It is day 15 for me on suboxone, and I am down to 2mgs-- I started at 12mgs 15 days ago--no major physical W/D symptoms yet.

I don't have the option of inpatient detox, without loosing my job, and becomming homeless-- I am single and live alone. Suboxone was my last hope. My addiction may not SEEM as bad as some, never the less, I am an addict, and need help.

Suboxone helps, AA/NA helps, therapy helps, and checking in here daily helps A LOT!

I've self-imposed my own regulations:

No beating my self up
No negative thinking
No self pity
Nothing that would undermine my freedom from pills

I know--sounds kinda psyco-babbly, but whatever gets me through another pill-free day...

You sound determined and strong willed, and you can do it! You took the biggest step already. You found one of the best places to receive/give support, share and vent.

I've read everything I could find on Suboxone, opiates, addiction, withdrawal, and recovery. I don't have a lot of 'hand's on' experience, and I am certainly not a doctor, but if I can help, I will post.

Tk
