If they are detoxing your daughter over 4-5 days they most likely will use a group of drugs such as valium (benzo), clonidine, something for the diarrhea and a sleep aid to help your daughter through the detox. These will make the detox process much more manageable then when your original Dr gave you a ridiculous taper program and your daughter suffered withdrawal without any help of supporting meds. Iím good with inpatient programs, but you have to supplement an inpatient program with a good after care out patient program. That can be one on one therapy, or group therapy or AA/NA or any combination of those. You definitely need support as if you try to get through this alone you are more likely to relapse. Support and a good after care program will not guarantee total success but it sure fortifies your chances of continued success. Thatís why after more then 2 years of clean living I still come here to read and offer help as this helps me maintain my clean drug free life. My form of therapy/support.

Just know that ultra detox (same day drug induced detox) has some very debatable issues and has many critiques for the down side so buyer beware. And after care support is essential in my eyes for continued drug free living.

Sure seems like you are headed in the right direction and you have a daughter who knew when to ask for help and drive to drug free. And your daughter is fortunate to have you as a mother who cares enough to help her daughter with unconditional love and support. I so admire the two of you.
