Greetings...

In reading an article in the British medical journal. Addiction and it's Treatment, I read that Buspirone, which is a non-addictive anti anxiety medication, greatly reduces withdrawal symptoms from opiates. Of course, this must be prescribed, but it is a sound alternative to clonidine. The study compared the two and found that the Buspar worked better. The doses used were from 15 mgs a day to 30 mgs a day.
So, if you are trying to go C>T> this might be something to talk over with your doctor.

Thanks for the info, Emily's Mom! I wonder if there's been any study of Buspirone in alleviating Sub withdrawals....since Sub has synthetic opoids? (I sure do wish all these pills' names didn't sound so alike!! Bupenorphine, Buspar, Bupenephron, bup, bup de bup!! LOL! :-) Lynn
