I started taking Suboxone this past Wednesday. I take 2 mg a day. I went 3 days ct before I started but doc felt strongly that I take it because I was experiencing typical wd's (diarrhea, leg cramps, sleeplessness and I was very depressed). He put me on anti-depressant on Monday and gave me Ambien to help sleep. When I went back 2 days later, he gave me script for Suboxone. After taking it, I felt like a completely different person in an hour. Besides all the physical stuff, I ate for the first time in 3 days and I felt like it evened me out mentally.....if that makes sense. It gave me hope that I could get through this. I slept that night unbelievably well without the help of the Ambien. I went back to doc on Friday and told him I didn't feel I needed to take it anymore. He wants me to continue and will reassess me on Tuesday. He said he hopes I should be done in 2 weeks with a taper that will go to every other day. I, too, was very afraid of getting hooked on medication but from what I have read, it sounds like it shouldn't be a problem stopping if done quickly. Suboxone has given me a way out. For 3 years I couldn't stop taking pills because I couldn't function without them. Looking back, I think they were my anti-depressant. When I had my son, I suffered depression and a lot of changes in my day to day on top of moving to a place where I knew nobody. I am a long way from recovered but the Suboxone has given me a new start. It feels fantastic to wake up and not think about taking percocets to get my day started. It feels great to leave my house and not worry about having enough pills to get me through the day.

Different things work for different people. The above is my experience. I wish you the best of luck in whatever route you go. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
