Hey jolo,

Well, there are pro's and con's regarding Suboxone. When I researched the drug, I was terrified as well. I heard stories of people having alot of trouble getting off it, however those people took the fast taper. Some folks on here said as long as you taper off slowly, it's not bad at all. Now on the other hand, I've heard that the last 2mg are the hardest. I've heard of people having to take a blade and cut slivers off it in order to make the taper longer. I would rather do that (in the future if and when I ever decide to come off Suboxone). It seems like a small price to pay, considering the alternative (relapse, addiction all over again, withdrawal etc.). In any case, Suboxone is not heroin. It is derived from the poppy plant, and so is heroin, percocet, oxycontin, hydro's etc. So don't worry that you'd be taking heroin.

Please keep in mind, I am not advertising Suboxone, nor am I trying to persuade you to take it. I'm only telling you my feelings. I was reluctant to take it, however I am SO glad I decided to. It has changed my life in ways I never thought possible.

You do not get high from it - all it did for me was take the cravings away (I haven't thought of using since the day I started Suboxone), gave me my energy back, and allowed me to get back to the person I was before I abused pain pills. I literally felt "normal" within 30 minutes of taking Suboxone.

So, if you do start taking it on Sunday, I'm curious to see how it affects you. Please keep in touch :)

Wishing you a wonderful weekend :)
