... Hello Hopeto It is so normal for it to be hard, very hard, to withdraw from the meds you have written about! Antidepressants and anti-pschotics work on brain chemistry and nervous system and make huge changes to it. Withdrawal from them , just as from opiates and benzos, is a long, drawn out process. She took melatonin to calm her, rescue remedy (herbal stuff) and Omega 3 (its fish oils) this stuff is supposed to get your chemical levels back to where they are supposed to be. ... Xanax is basically alcohol in a pill, a downer, that's why you don't get high, it's not a stimulant like cocaine or speed. Be careful with it, especially since you are a former alcoholic. It's effects are short-lived and require larger doses eventually. Zoloft and Celexa are SSR's, I am surprised you take both because too much serotonin in the brain can cause problems. But... I do know those can cause people to want to drink for some reason, perhaps because AD's are actually sometimes too stimulating (serotonin is an excitatory neurotransmitter) and alcohol is a depressant, effecting the inhibitory...
