... Hi I came off Xanax and Oxycodone. My plan with my doctors actually was oppostie from yours... off the opiate first and then from the benzo. Truthfully, although we each must work out the plan that is best for us, coming off the opiate first seems more logical to me. As we withdraw from the opiate (for you Percocet), the benzo (for you, Valium) is still there to help us... (4 replies)

... set first, and then begin gradually tapering off the valium. Any sudden discontiuation of these medicinces will induce severe withdraw symptoms. ... Thank you Secrets... I was waiting for someone to reply. I will get the leg cramp meds. I have some Alzaprone (sp?) which is kind of like Valium. I will use them sparingly as needed. ... Welcome to the group chefb - I was on Oxy also for a neck injury and I found out the hard way that the only way to detox is to taper down slowly. I had all of the w/d's also, even when I tapered (I tapered too fast in reality), so you need to taper down and not go cold turkey until you are down to much lower amounts. What dose of Percs are you taking? 5's, 10's? I tapered... (2 replies)
