... I got addicted in only 4 weeks of using ONLY the prescribed dose, and the withdrawals were brutal. It's really trading one addiction for another, and you'll have to withdraw all over again. ... (13 replies)

... hing to calm down, but i'm not going to. will try to stay busy and keep myself away from my home where i get most tempted. i going down another quarter off the ultram tomorrow, i feel pretty ok about that. ... (89 replies)

... started as pain management and then snowballed from there until I was going to clinic after clinic to get opiates. When I couldn't do that any longer, I ordered Ultram through the mail. After I had worn out my financial resources I started to drink because the withdrawals were too much to handle and alcohol barely cut it. ... (2 replies)
... hi , you can do it just realize this is the beginning of the end. you will feel so much better. an you can move the taper a bit faster if you want to . i found that a quick taper worked best for me then my doctor gave me 1 mg klonapin twice a day to help me to stay more relaxed, for 3to4 days after my last day . i feel so much better an so will you i actually threw away some... ... Hi Tider Doors often open of opportunity even when we don't always recognize it. I think having 5 year old twins for the week is actually going to be to your benefit tapering down. Stay super busy with them and I believe it can help keep the mind and anxiety and emotional upset quite a bit at bay. As I tapered myself, I know that excessive activity really, really helped... ... Thanks 56789 - The only issue I have with the 10% per week is that I only have around 60 and really don't need to spend the money on more. It may be that I have to though. I thought about going down to 6 per day for five days or so and then trying to cut to 3 per day? Again, I don't have any real experience with it because I have never tried to taper and I am concerned... (10 replies)
... Thank you reach - I know there is a lot of emotio0n involved in my case because I have been down this road with cocaine about two years ago. It never got really bad out of hand because I recognized where it was heading and just stopped (without replacing it with any other drugs). Happy to say I have not had the desire to go back to that. The fact that I felt like I was... (10 replies)
... Does anyone else out there have any suggestions and/or advice? (10 replies)
... Thanks for the advice. Headed to the drug store now. (10 replies)
... I would avoid using another drug to "help" with the withdrawal symptoms. Your wd's will last a few days and then taper down. One thing that has worked well for me and others here is hot epsom salt baths for the leg spasms and also hylands brand leg cramp pills. I can also suggest reading one of the first sticky posts in this forum, it gives great tips on how to get through... (10 replies)

... ain't as bad as other opiates, but then you got people on here who say it is. I don't know if there going cold turkey or what but I believe your suppose to take ultram and clonodine once you have no more subs left. I think if you had those and something to sleep the withdrawal can't be that bad. ... (0 replies)
... When you are feeling run down its hard to stay busy, but maybe the tread mill will help out. I get that extreme exhausted feeling when I'm deep into my withdrawals and I have to push myself to continue to walk. My mind tells me to lay down, but when I do I go into the shaking and muscle spasms which are worse. ... (13 replies)
... i am in desperate need of finding a scheduling regime to safely taper off of ultram. I was injured in hockey, put on this med and have become dependent on it. I know I can quit however I have no knowledge of how to taper and limit the withdrawals. My own primary care physician denies to me that this is even an additive med and advised me to quit cold turkey. This will not work... (8 replies)

... und out i was taking 300mg of ultram....i went right down to 50mg a day, and since at the time i thought it wasn't addictive bcuz my dr. told me so, i thought my withdrawals were just pregnancy. But now looking back, i see it was due to me dropping doseage so quickly. I couldn't sleep and sweat thru my sheets. ... (3 replies)
... at first all I could see is why it would be alot easier going "backwords" instead of forward however something in this post has given me some strength to say the withdrawals will pass and the rest of my life will hopefully not. ... (17 replies)
... is addicting, no matter what the doctor says. Many, many people on this board have had a terrible time with it. The withdrawals are awful. Go back and read some of the posts about it. I would think twice before trying it. I have severe back pain. ... (11 replies)

I could sware out of a million people coming off ultram " I had it the worse" and that is the feeling that everyone else feels too, it's because it just feels so bad while you are going through it. ...
