... understand your fear and apprehension about getting involved with another drug that can cause painful withdrawal. Like yourself, I have experienced nightmarish withdrawals in my life, from percocet, methadone, zanax, etc. That was over 16 years ago. In 1988 I went into drug treatment and have been clean and sober ever since. ... (4 replies)

... I'm doing much better, thanks. I'm exercising daily and drinking tons of fluids. The aches are slowly dissipating, and the strength and energy are coming back. To those of you who think depression may have an effect on how dependency begins, I NEVER had a depressed day in my entire life, and I'm 55 years old. The depression I had coming off tramadol was intolerable. I... (50 replies)

... If you have withdrawal symptoms stopping the Ultram after 4 days, I believe the symptoms will actually be from the Percocet and Vicodin. The Ultram is just hitting the same receptors as the opiods. No matter which route you take, you will eventually have to face withdrawals. ... (3 replies)

... Hey Emerald I am VERY familiar with Ultram. I started taking it about 3 years ago for a back injury and I never could get off of them until about 2 weeks ago I went cold turkey. Ultram does help with pain, you can get them easier from Doctors more so than hydros, vics, perc etc; because they are not controlled and most Doctors don't believe they are addictive in the same... ... Josh, My doctor did prescribe me valium, he gave me 16 pills. But I won't be taking anymore because they don't even help at all with my withdrawal from ultram. When I'm on valium, I don't feel any different at all, it's like I'm not even taking it. I guess that the ultram is way stronger then the valium that's why it doesn't help with the withdrawal. I am seeing a... (17 replies)

... I am sorry to hear that you got so addicted (innocently) to this drug from hell. I was only on 2 a day for 9 weeks & had horrible withdrawals. My husband had to take a week off work & stay home with me, I tapered down, cutting the pills smaller & smaller each day. It IS a synthetic opiate, & contrary to what was previously thought by doctors, it IS HIGHLY addictive. ... (61 replies)

... Hey Carla...welcome! ;) I will tell from first hand experience, ultram/tramadol is VERY addictive. There are instances where people do not get addicted to it but mostly because they do not feel its effects in the first place (just like some who take oxys and don't even feel that). Since tram stops your WDs then you're looking to substitute one drug for another and from... (3 replies)

... I had the same problem with the vics and the percs, I went cold turkey over a month ago and thought that it was the end for me.
