Often people who are depressed or who are prone to depression are most likley to get caught up in the abuse of this drug IMO, because it has properitys that work on the seratonin levels in your brain. ... I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. It's extremely unfortunate. However, we've all been there or are there now. I would drop 10% each week. For example, if you are taking 10 per day, drop down to 9 per day for a week and then 8 for another week, etc. If you do it this way, your wds should not be severe. ... It's nothing like coming off of Ultram. At the level you're at you should be fine. Xanax is not really a drug that requires one to take it each and every day. It's a drug that can be used for accute anxiety, or on a schedule. Thus, if you're worried about becoming addicted, or dependent on the drug, take it only when you feel it necessary.
