... As day seven of my second attempt to clean up from Vicodin comes to a close, I must post a thought that came to my head as I was reflecting on my last Vicodin bender I was on last month. For every hour that a Vicodin will make us feel good, there are at least two or three hours of feeling bad that always follow. ... (14 replies)
... I notice I see a lot of Xannax useage on this board while cleaning up from Vicodins. That kind of seems to me like a bad habit in itself. It's kind of like myself trading Booze for Vicodin. I would think to be clean, we must be clean of all perscription narcotics and tranquilizers. I guess everyone is on their own path and must do things their own way. I am not here to... (14 replies)

... I want to quit even stronger now. I guess all the other sites I had read about these kinds of threads had sooo much NEGATIVE and here I am finding STRENGTH & COMMITMENT. Something I yearn for again in life! I am on the pills now and If I wasnt at home with the 3 girls I would flush them and do it at home. I am sooo excited about going into the DETOX. I spent my 6th, 7th, 8th... (56 replies)
Vicodin Question

... I agree, see your doctor! I know that when I had an endoscopy in the hospital a few weeks ago to diagnose my abdominal pain (turned out to be unrelated) they did find that I had some paralysis of the digestive track. My doctor said that it was more than likely caused by my pain med usage (I was on vicodin at the time). For a month or so before that I was having horrible... (22 replies)

... Unfortunetly all the above posters are right. You are an out of control vicodin addict and as such I truely do not see any way for you to be in control enough of your usage to actually even attempt any kind of taper, honestly. ... (14 replies)
... ly get by on advil but are still taking the vics. and the other really more critical thing here that IS one of the biggest reasons that people become addicted to vicodin than any other type of narcotic, is the "energizing" quality this med has on only some people. ... (8 replies)

... good goin. Just keep in mind, the longer the break between doses, the less the body thinks it needs the drug. And look at your non-usage as an acomplishment. Because say you take a pill after work... it wont be the end of the world; you know your body and what pain threshold you have... but, keep in mind, you'll have to do that '24 hrs' off the pill again the next time you... Anyways the usage progressed into I was taking what I called a cocktail which is Vic's, Muscler Relaxers and Valium, and I was taking a lot daily and I mean a lot. ... (10 replies)

... I have tried some of what you have suggested and i must say exercise is probably the most effective of all. Starting Day2 - get at least 30 minutes and continue on Day3 and Day3 if possible. Out of sheer torture do I endure it during the WDs but afterwards, it most definitely stablizes your brain and body. Its very effective. I would say it is much more effective than some... ... Hey Phil. The whole reason I used Vikes in the first place is I thought they were the perfect drug for my depression. I have had serious bouts of depressin my entire adult life. With the derpression comes very low energy. Vikes were the perfect cure all. They made me happy and gave me energy. Why did I blow almost three months of being clean to use again? I guess deep... ... Why did you start using the Vikes again? because of the mental struggle? The hardest part for me is the forgetting of just how terrible the opiate withdrawls are. I haven't had to go through sever alcohol detox but from what I have heard, it is very nasty and can be deadly if not done correctly. I'd like to hear more of your experiences with alcohol detox.
