Addison's Disease Message Board

Addison's Disease Board Index

I am a Hashimoto's thyroid sufferer who has been taking a custom compounded type of hydrocortisone for the last year and noticed a rise in blood pressure, heart rate and fluid retention over the last month or so. My doctor switched me to Medrol saying that it has a "0" sodium factor and that it would help the above symptoms. Since my adrenal fatigue is so severe and antibody levels have not gotten below 3700 for the last two and a half years, she feels I should be taking 4 mg. per day of the Medrol. I read all the side effects of this medication and it scares me silly to think of taking it for the rest of my life. Have in the past had bad experience with glandulars (Isocort, etc.). Most homeopathic meds and other herbs don't seem to do much to improve my condition. Where do I go from here? I'm pretty discouraged to say the least.
