If you take just what you need, and you take care of what you are probably already hopefully doing to take care of your bones, then you should not effect your bones.
If, on the other hand, you take large amounts, then chances are, you could effect your bones.
Also, cortef and hydrocortisone effect your bones less than some of the other longer acting steroids such as prednisone and deximethisone. Keep that in mind. Lots of people who take steroids worry (I am drinking milk as I write this!) and take calcium supplements or the biphosphates as necessary. Vitamin D is also a great idea.
If you need the cortisol, it can be life-threatening not to enough if you have an adrenal crisis.
Good luck to you and sorry about your bones.
