Addison's Disease Message Board

Addison's Disease Board Index

I have not been diagnosed with Addison's but I have a question. I am having contradictory cortisol test results. My serum and salivary (AM/PM) cortisol levels are normal but my 24 hr urine cortisol readings are low (3 separate tests resulted in 5, 9 and 11 within 3 months of one another).

What does this mean? Is it possible or likely that my adrenal glands are diseased? What is the definitive test for adrenal gland exhaustion or disease?

Thanks All.
I don't know about the variation in your cortisol tests, but the test you really need for Addison's is the ACTH stimulation test.
