Addison's Disease Message Board

Addison's Disease Board Index

Wow! I just checked this board again to ask another question and found these great stories since I posted this! I really appreciate you all taking the time to write these stories.

What I really learned from these stories is that Addison's doesn't always hit fast. It seems some of you can see, on retrospect, the spiral down years before the diagnosis.

I seem to have quite a few of these symptoms, but am about 30 lbs. overweight. I had a stim. test 4 years ago, and it was normal. However, here I am 4 years later, still unable to do much outside my home, as i have:

1.Lightheadedness when upright
2.Normal b/p, but rises with standing, as does my heart rate
3.Severe heat intolerance
4.No stress tolerance at all, or feel like I'm going to faint.
5.Try to drink alot of fluids
6.No energy.
7.Hypoglycemia

This all happened one day after doing labwork, and I literally have not been able to do anything since. I can't walk enough to shop, am somewhat dizzy headed, so don't drive. I am in a life-limiting limbo. I was just wondering if I could be in an "addison spiral". I have told my husband that if I ever pass out to have the emergency people, first check my blood sugar, and second, tell the doctors to check my cortisol, as I have alot of the symptoms.

I just want to be diagnosed.

P.S.--I think this would make a good "sticky" for the top of this page. I think alot of people would find your stories enlightening!
