I have been unwell for some time now and after just coming out of hospital today, again with no results, I would very much appreciate your advice on this.
I am 41 yr old female and have been suffering with very odd and debilatating symptoms for years. I suffer from extreme tiredness, muscle spasms, aching joints, very low blood pressure and the reason I was just admitted to hospital was because I was rushing round one minute doing housework, the next I felt faint, thought I was going to faint and starting drifting in and out of conciousness. This is not the first time either. I had a nasty bug last year, I actually thought this was the end, I was bed ridden for 3 weeks, eventually I was so weak I started drifting and losing conciousness. An ambulance was called, I was not responding, my pupil were fixed and dilated and they couldnt find anything wrong. I had a shuffling gait, wich I still get from time to time when my symptoms are worse. They always do the usual blood tests which always come back normal.
I am no where near the fit healthy person I used to be, everything is such a struggle. I get bouts of diarrhea, terrible dizzyness, some days I just havent got the energy to do anything, my body feels so weak and my balance is awfull.
I am always worse before my menstrual cycle, my symptoms seem to be alot worse the week before and leading up to.
Today in hospital they decided to give me a test called a TETRACOSACTRIN test, they havent said why or even really discussed it with me. They said the test will take about a week.
I have been tested for EVERYTHING like MS, Lupus, you name it, iv been tested and basically left for a complete enigma, and even timewaster.
My symptoms are becoming worse on a more permanent basis, like the tiredness is just there all the time now. I can never walk that far, because when I do, It feels like complete exhaustion, and I just cannot carry on. I have terrible hot flushes, I sleep with the fan on every night and cant bear extreme changes in heat. I had also a lumbar puncture test which was positive for showing oligoclonal bands in the CSF. My neuro said it certainly isnt MS it could of been a virus or whatever. I have alot of stiffness in my joints and generally on a day to day basis I feel very unwell. I seriously feel like the energy is being totally drained out of me.
Does anyone here think this sounds like Addison's?...Or do you think maybe not. I realise you cannot possibly diagnose and I wouldnt ask you to, but I am at the end of my tether here and just don't know where to turn. I get brain fog, thats what I call it anyway, I have problems eating main meals, its like if the meal is heavy, I feel quite unwell for a time afterward or until the food has eventually digested. I have also lost 3 stone in weight, very quickly. I am getting constant headaches and neck stiffness.
