Addison's Disease Message Board

Addison's Disease Board Index

Over the past several months, I've developed ringing in my ears, but for the most part, I've been able to deal with it. However, it now is waking me up in the middle of the night, is very loud, high pitched & constant. Maddening to say the least. I've found that if I take a little cortisone and eat something that it dissipates somewhat. I've done quite a bit of research now on tinnitus and there are many many causes ;many of them being hormone related. I've read that it's often due to a rush of adrenaline, or your body's "alarm bells" going off when there's some sort of danger. The danger here I would imagine to be low cortisol, or low blood sugar. I've read that when adrenaline is high, cortisol is low. Unfortunately, taking cortisol in the middle of the night, along with a ringing head can make sleeping very difficult. Don't know about all of you, but without sleep .. I pretty much can't function.

Would love to hear any of your insights ...

Thanks very much for reading
