... 2jen, Yes, I have emergency shots. I keep a kit by my phone in the kitchen & another kit in my purse. There are 2 shots in each kit. Alcohol wipes. Along with a letter from my endo with instructions on how to care for me. MedicAlert info. A page explaining addisons. Some doctors are lazy, don't have a clue & trying to save a dollar. I'm being treated for weak adrenals by my nutritionist, and having some success by TOTALLY eliminating white sugar, rice, noodles, caffeine, and alcohol. ... Thanks Wanda, I will definetely look into that. My doctor isn't sure if this is related, but I was on human growth hormone for five years when I was a child and had to give myself an injection everyday, so I am ok with that part. I haven't done it in almost 8 or 9 years, but its something I could do if I have to. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! (20 replies)

... alwaystired, The fillers are different in Hydrocortisone & Cortef. One is not better than the other. It is just a matter of which one you do better on. I do best on Hydrocortisone or Prednisone, but know of many who take Cortef & do fine. We are all very different. When I have to increase for a cold or broncitis I use Prednisone. ... There is a generic version!!! My insurance only covers generic prescriptions and my pharmacy told me there wasn't a generic version of cortef! Granted, its only $35 a month, but if I could get it for $10 that would be even better.
