... You need a script for a vile containing power & liquid. 100mg solu-cortef. When needed the seal between the two is broken allowing for mixing & loaded into a syringe with 1 or 1.5 inch long needle (depends on the size of your hip), to be injected into the "muscle" of the outer thigh, midway between the knee & hip. You & others who may have to give you this shot should be... (2 replies)

... Robin, Good morning! I'm still on the Levoxyl. After the Armour, I went back to the Levoxyl. I don't know what would happen if I quit taking thyroid, but I don't think it's a good idea to find out. So, if your TSH went up to 30, then I would think going off thyroid meds isn't a good idea for you either. As far as knowing if the adrenal supplements are working, I'm... (15 replies)

... Hi everyone. I have kind of a cross-over question. I have both adrenal insufficiency and hypothyroid (and growth hormone deficiency) and am experiencing weird lab results. After reading on here, I found that this can occur when someone is not getting enough hydrocortisone, but since my endo doesnt know why my numbers are weird I thought I'd ask. My Free T3 is high and my Free... (0 replies)
... Beth, I believe you need a new doc. Addisons can be complicated & we need as much information as we can get. The cortef will cause hunger so it could be helping with weight gain or you are on too much cortef (do not try to reduce the dose without docs approval) or your thyroid as Chris mentioned. I was on too much for over 3 years & finally learned from others my weight... (6 replies)

... I wish I were more knowledgable, but think some veterans of Addison's will write back commenting upon your somewhat low dose of cortef. Also have heard you need to fix the adrenal problems FIRST, so am unsure whether it is a good idea to go on both meds for thyroid AND adrenal together. Most of the people I've "met" with Addison's are taking about 30 - 35 mg of cortef per... (4 replies)
