... st. That is wonderful and should be a fabulous tool in discovering what is going on. I suspect that you will find you have an abnormal response, esp since your cortisol is so low to begin with. ... (88 replies)

... I have been following your posts, because we share some of the same symptoms. I usually post on the thyroid board, but have recently been on the Diabetes board more often due to high and low blood sugar. ... (3 replies)

... Kim, I am no endocrinologist, but it does seem stange that you should have your doses strung out throughout the day. In the normal, cortisol producing body the adrenals squeeze out their biggest doses just as we awake in the am, with another boost in the early afternoon, then it tapers off to very little as we sleep. Has your MD given you a reason that they want to dose... (24 replies)

... With him being on high doses of the steroid for so long, plus the pancreatitis, have him tested for diabetes too. Make sure fasting insulin and fasting glucose are done at the same time. Many docs just do one or the other, but then you only get half the picture. ... (12 replies)
... I'm gonna have my cortisol levels checked this week...ASAP. ... (3 replies)
... Hi Chris I hear you. I have hypopituitarism, which has resulted in my thyroid, adrenal glands and growth hormone levels going south. I take replacement hormones for all of these conditions, plus I have type 1 diabetes. In the first throes of my illness, I, too, felt hopeless. Luckily, I have a great endocrinologist, who insisted that we could regain some sense of normalcy... (37 replies)
... I'm not totally sure just yet if I have Addison's Disease, but I'm in the middle of getting a second opinion from another endo doctor who's willing to help me. The new endo doctor I saw only took blood from me. Is this enough to test me for Addison's Disease? I thought I was suppose to have something injected in me (ACTH stimulation test)? However, I took a look at the... (1 replies)
... had the antibodies. My father died from diabetes when I was only 3. Probably didn't take care of himself. This was long, long ago!! Anyway autoimmune stuff. ... (18 replies)
... A lot of docs are also testing midnight cortisol via saliva. Those are the biggies, but the main thing is to get into a doctor who knows Cushing's. ... (3 replies)
... It was pointed out to me, that on this board, there is a lot of controversy over the condition we speak of, known as Adrenal Exhaustion. Conversely, that condition is readily accepted on the Thyroid board. Which view is accurate, I am not sure. I think there is almost a pre-conceived notion on the Thyroid board, that most Doctors are ill-equipped in general. In the... (4 replies)

... Your BS looks WAY too low. You may want to ask for an ACTH stim test (not just a single blood plasma cortisol test). I'll bet with the high renin, your aldosterone WILL come back too low (especially with your dizziness). Sounds like you need to be worked up for possible diabetes, but may be just hypoglycemia, which would be another sign of adrenal insufficiency! Hope you... (6 replies)

... I think I posted before about adrenal fatigue. I have never been tested for my cortisol levels. Like I said my doc brought up the buffalo hump. I then searched the net and saw cushing's. ... (6 replies)
... OK a quick update. Although I don't know much just yet.....I went to the urologic onocologist for my second opinion. He said he was going to have his radiologist read my CT and US films. I also took him my saliva test results and all my other labs that I have had done. He consulted with an endo on this, and the endo said to have me do a alpha hydroxy progesterone test. (is... ... Vixen: I think you are absolutely on the right track. Your story is much like mine. I had so many of the same symptom and said I had Addison's Disease a full year before the doctors figured it out, and my tests (including the cortisol stimulation test) are STILL "inconclusive". You need to get them to focus on your symptoms and tell them what you think. In my case, a... (2 replies)
