... You know I was wondering about cushings after doing some research.I have all that above you have mentioned except hypertension blood pressure is normal and I do not bruise easily plus i have low sugar..Could cortisol levels throw off the thyroid? Also before I had these test done..Ok on the cortisol levels through blood which i didnt post but here they are 14.5 AM ranges... (11 replies)

... Carrielynn or others, What was your initial problems that they done this kind of testing for, like your symptoms?? I did have extremely high levels of DHEA about 3-4 years ago, she indicated that I may have like I guess adrenal exhaustion and I may need meds like you all take? I am prone to get Addison's or Cushings from this. So I was just wondering what your symptoms... (20 replies)

... I am on a teeney-tiny amount of Armour (15 mg, a tiny, tiny pill), so I don't think it's doing much to my adrenals. Besides, I was having this kind of fatigue before I started taking the thyroid medication. My thyroid doctor is in another city -- he's a national expert, so I can't see him very easily. (Takes me 4 hours to drive to see him.) I will bring this up with him... (20 replies)

... Miller - I would ask for a dex/crh test, midnight serum cortisol, and another 24 HR UFC (to get the average). Have you had an ACTH? If not, get one of those too. Cortisol is always changing so blood tests really tell us nothing. There is also cyclical Cushing's which means that one day you are very Cushingoid and the next you can be adrenally insufficient. May I add that low cortisol can contribute to high levels of anxiety, so you might find when you regulate your cortisol levels, you may not feel as anxious and as a result, no longer need your anti anxiety meds. ...
