... Hi, You need to stand up to your doc and make sure you ask what they are testing for and why. I don't have answers for you but I feel we are in similar predicaments. I am hypothyroid, adrenal fatigue, perimenopause, fibromyalgic and chronic myofascail pain. I take: 4 grains (240mg) Armour thyroid, 25 mg cortef (split dosing), 2 10/325 hydrocodone day and numerous... (3 replies)
... Thanks for reminding be about the FFC, MrSleepy. I called a couple of weeks ago and made an appt here in Dallas. My MD has helped me along for a couple of years now, but she's not been able to tune the combinations just right. I'm hoping they have more experience there. How are you doing? From your last post about getting sleepy in the evening, I got to remembering... (16 replies)
... Sleepy - I know what you mean about having a good day and you might think you are better or that you forget its there at all - then it says BAM hello! I was wondering what you thought of the Iv's for energy ( Im not sure what they actually call it). Have you tried anything like that? I tried Well butrin for energy- I helped some - not alot but some so I still take... (16 replies)

... Mr. Sleepy, Sorry I'm slow to post on this... I've had a couple of "bad" days. I'm currently on 40mg... that's 25mg AM, 10mg noon and 5mg suppertime. Me and my MD are wanting to pull that down, but I haven't really stabilized in the last few months. Now even for males, that's on the high end. We've wondered if I'm malabsorbing or something, but that test came back... (16 replies)
... HI Mr. Sleepy- I hope you can try this- I think it would be a great idea to change to a Dr. who is familiar with it because it can really make a difference. It made a HUGE difference for me. I dont have Addisons- I take it for Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia. It has made more difference than anything I have tried so far. So since I dont take it for Addisons, I dont know... (16 replies)
... I take 20mg in the am and 10 in the afternoon. I slowly worked up to that amount, starting with 10 in the am and 5 in the afternoon, then 15 and 5, then 20 and 5, and finallt 20 and 10 and it seems to work for me. I do still have days where I feel run down, but I also have Hashimoto's, and it could have something to do with that. Does anyone have a problem remembering... (16 replies)

... Hi Gettnbetter, Thanks so much for your helpful information. Sleepy (16 replies)
... The schedule you mention is a good one for cortisol replacement. I take 15 mg. in the a.m. and 5 about 5 p.m. It seems to work for me. I have also taken 10, 5, and 5, as you suggest. (16 replies)

... Hi Sarah Thanks for all the information. I wrote it all down so I can give it to my friend in case she decides to try it. I still have my terrible sore throat and bad exhaustion. I have had the sore throat since starting abx but sometimes it is so bad I can barely swallow. This past week was just plain bad. I have an appt. tomorrow so it will be interesting to see what he has... (24 replies)

... MaryAnn, hope you are having a good Mother's Day weekend. My mom is up, there on Whidbey, I am here in Texas. I'm glad I could send y'all a little sunshine, wish I could have hand delivered it! does your profile name have anything to do with Boeing? Just asking because my dad works @ Boeing in Everett. ... Hello Sarah & Kim! Yes, you guys have a complicated road and you will be in my prayers, if you don't mind that I say that. As for the DHEA, I can understand why you would be cautious. In my case, it's more cut and dry. The adrenals make DHEA, and those with adrenal insufficeincy, like us, make less DHEA than the average person our age. Therefore, it can be very... (24 replies)

... Kim, I am no endocrinologist, but it does seem stange that you should have your doses strung out throughout the day. In the normal, cortisol producing body the adrenals squeeze out their biggest doses just as we awake in the am, with another boost in the early afternoon, then it tapers off to very little as we sleep. Has your MD given you a reason that they want to dose... (24 replies)

... MaryAnn It sure is day to day. I never know what I will feel like when I get up in the mornings. Will it be ok or just plain bad. I think when I see the doctor next week I am going to suggest changing my dose schedule. It doesn't make sense to me to take the same amount 4 times a day. I have had no real increase in energy at all. I am going to mention the DHEA also. I have... (24 replies)

... I am not taking DHEA. My doctor hasn't even mentioned it to me. My level was half of the lowest normal level so I know I am pretty deficient in that too. I am noticing I have some times when I am not as tired but everyday is still a challenge. I see the doctor next week so maybe he will switch my dose around. Thanks everyone. Kim (24 replies)
... Hi, thanks for the responses. I am having insurace issues presently. I have not had more elaborate bloodwork since surgery including thyroid levels. My doctor was trying to be helpful by easing the cost burden by only sending out for the most necessary measurements which was cortisol and I believe electrolytes. Before surgery usually my thyroid levels would be normal. I don't... (3 replies)
