... The prolactin was in fact attributed to hypo. My TSH toggles between 5.5 and 15 on its own with no meds and my T4 has always been low normal and T3 is fine or abnormal high. I have during the last 2 years of being messed up had a few normal prolactin readings as well and my Cortisol is always usually high normal, but still normal in most cases. I do suffer some sort of... (5 replies)
... What's your endo say about the high prolactin? Sometimes hypothyroidism can cause that, but if your T4 is in normal range now (regardless of the hashi's), prolactin definitely should not be that high. Okay, the low testosterone could be chalked up to "male menopause" (not that I really buy that theory) and the high cortisol could be attributed to stress, but there's really... (5 replies)
... IGF-1 was normal but my Prolactin was pretty high outside the range, I think I was a 21 in a range of 4-17 or something for Prolactin. (5 replies)

... Hi nastyhashi. I'm no expert, but I have undergone testing for Cushing's myself. Actually with pituitary Cushing's (as opposed to an ectopic source) ACTH usually is not super-high. It's more often normal or slightly high. I would say your slightly high cortisol together with high-ish ACTH is suspicious enough to warrant further testing. A good next step would be a 24hr... ... I don't know how else to explain slightly elevated prolactin. Did you have contrast enhancement with your MRI? I have heard that tumors can be missed if this agent isn't injected during the MRI proceedure. My symptoms where similar to yours and was discovered by a chance x-ray of my sinus which later lead to an MRI. I do take medication and while I am significantly... (15 replies)

... Your tests and symptoms are consistent with a pituitary tumor. You need an MRI asap and possibly surgery. You are most probably severely hormone deficient. If you were to be in an accident or suffer other physical trama you could be in a life threatening situation. You need to inform your doctors that you are adrenal insufficient and extra hydrocortisone may be necessary. ... (15 replies)

Has anyone ever performed an MRI of your PITUITARY (not just your brain) to see if you have a mass pushing on your optic chiasm, the area where your optic nerves cross at the base of your... ... Hi Tracy, Well My Aldosterone Test Was Normal !!! So Far My Sugar Was Low(ONCE), Potassium High, And Renin Level High. My Endo Said That My Symptoms Are So Non-specific That She Doesn't Know What Is Wrong With Me, So She Told Me To Wait 2 Months And Re Do All The Blood Tests Again(INCLUDING THYROID T3,T4 WHICH WERE NORMAL ON MY FIRST TEST) So We'll See How THOSE Come Out. I... (6 replies)
... Dear Lorena, How did you tests turn out for aldosterone? What about diabetes being a possibility, since eating makes you feel awful? Hope you don't have it, but thought I'd bring it up for consideration. I know you want to find out what's wrong. Good luck! ~ Tracy (6 replies)
... Hi Van I'm sorry...somehow this message wasn't responded to. Your lab results appear to be suspicious for Cushing's disease. I have Cushing's and have had to learn alot about it over the last year. Trial by fire. Do an online search for Cushing's and quite a bit will come up. Read some about it and see if it sounds like you at all. There are many symptoms but... (11 replies)

I Have A Four Year Old And Really Hard Because He's So Active And Never Have The Energy To Do... (6 replies)
... Your BS looks WAY too low. You may want to ask for an ACTH stim test (not just a single blood plasma cortisol test). I'll bet with the high renin, your aldosterone WILL come back too low (especially with your dizziness). Sounds like you need to be worked up for possible diabetes, but may be just hypoglycemia, which would be another sign of adrenal insufficiency! Hope you... (6 replies)
