... you are not alone...i take between 15-20mg prednisone a day (which is about 60-80 equivalent of HC) and cant do with less.....a lot has to do with how good your body absorbs it and stuff like that... ive been on this done for almost two years and no side effects from prednison, no weight gain, no bones my endo says is working... ... hi I have secondary Addison's and take 10 mg of hydrocortisone at 10 am and 5 mg at 1 pm (had to beg for that dose, it was just doubled). Prior to this dosage I was feeling very very bad, nausea, dizziness, diarrhea/consitapation (nausea 6 out of 7 days). ... Dose anyone have any Numbers, percentages on the numbers of people with Adrenal insufficiency. That have had their Adrenal gland restarted. Not any other gland just the shutdown of the gland from over use of Cortisone cream or prednisone. Adrenal insufficiency success (0 replies)

... Well I could'nt stand it any longer, I called to see if results were back from my test. The nurse said before the injection my cortisol level was 8.5, then one hour after injection the cortisol level was 12.7 The office is very busy and she said we would talk more my next appointment, in 3 months! ... I've been on it for years. I have been tapering since Sept and as of April 1st have come off it entirely. I don't feel all that great. ... For Addison's I take 137 mg per day of cortisone acetate. It takes that much to address symptoms of fatigue, pain, nocturia and diarrhea. From what I have read, that is about the same as 20 mg of prednisone. Anyone know if my dosage raises concerns about side affects? My 22-year old son was diagnosed with Addisons over Memorial Day weekend this year.
