... Hi Chris, thanks for your reply. Man i feel sick! i wrote more info on the 'mold cause' post...the last post of the thread. All i know is that my ACTH test showed over 3,000 on the pituitary output. And it must be Addison's because i have the hyperpigmentation. in fact, i couldn't take the entire 5mg today, nor the half pill in the evening, because it slows my breathing down... (5 replies)
... hi again....i need some of the Addison's experts and sufferers to give me any advice you can! My last post is below under Mold Cause. i've been diagnosed and on Prednisone, but feel even worse than before. The only time my real SELF comes out, is as the meds wear off! Also, my brain feels so swollen, but the ct scan says it's not. i'm sorry, i WAS a writer, but i'm not very... (5 replies)

... I have had Addisson's for 9 years and broke my collarbone lengthwise in June '04. My doc told me that 2 months would heal the break entirely. It is now 3 months and I still have a lot of pain. I did not see my endo after the break. Did not raise my prednisone/florinef levels. I figure that the addisson's will slow my healing some, but hope not too much. My doc did insist... (2 replies)
... Thank you for the replies. When my cardiologist tried to put me on an ace inhibitor my BP at the library was 84/60 and I was a little dizzy. I had increased pigmentation on my forehead years ago. I had an ACTH test 15 years ago due to hirsutism and a high testosterone level as a female. At that time it was normal. That was before the prednisone. I have been having large... (2 replies)
... I am a new member here. My brother, 24 years of age, has Addison's disease (for 16 years), as well as he has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism (1.5 years). In the last month he has developed psychosis or lost touch with reality. What that means is that he has been hearing voices, auditory hallucinations, he is easily confused, depressed, unmotivated, and as of late... (4 replies)

... overnight and in turn her blood sugar also dropped down to 27. She went into diabetic shock and we almost lost her. It is all connected somehow. She now takes prednisone instead of the HC and we have not had any other incidents. Perhaps there is somthing that has been overlooked, maybe it is epilepsy, but I would double check. ... (1 replies)
... woman etc. I know because I now have these things from a very slightly too high of a dose. I have had Addison's all my life and I am in my 30's. I currently take Prednisone and Florinef. Although today I feel pretty crappy I usually feel good other then I am tired a lot but that is most likely from the POF. ... (13 replies)

... Dear Friends, I am sorry that you feel so awful, but I am thankful to know that others are experiencing the same pain as I am. The part about being poo pooed from the Drs office is soo true! I am a different person than I was two years ago; it is true, if the Dr won't listen, then find another who will. And they are out there! Best, Christina (4 replies)
... You should not have a moon face if on the correct replacement dose for addisons. I was started too high in 1998, at 30mg hydrocortisone & it did cause weight gain. I have tapered myself to 20mg. I have also used prednisone as a replacement & again the dose of 7.5mg was too high. I tapered it to 5mg daily. (4 replies)
... I was wondering if the steriods that you have to take are similar to prednisone and do those cause any of you swelling, weight gain, etc? ... (4 replies)
What next?
Mar 14, 2004
... Hi, I am not sure what I should do, if anything, next..... I am 42, diabetic, hypothroid, and recently suspected of addison's. My doc put me on prednisone, 5 mgs x 2 daily for 5 days......then wants to see if I feel better, then if I start to feel bad again after stopping the drug. This seems a little strange to me. I'm not entirely sure why he supects addison's or why he... (1 replies)
