I have had a slight muffled sound and mild pressure in my ears for well over 2 years now. It sounds like I have fluid in there and pops and moves when I yawn or swallow. It's getting to the point where I'm used to it and don't even notice it anymore. But numerous doctors have looked in my ears and said "I don't see any fluid in there." And give me an antihistamine to "dry it up" which never works. I am a chronic sinus/allergy sufferer, but have never been to an ENT. I do know that my sinuses don't drain properly for some reason. If I ever cry or have a bad allergy attack, I will inevetitably have tons of pressure and a sinus infection a few days later.

Anyone ever had this and should I see an ENT? What could it be if GP's don't see fluid?
I thought I was the only one trying to explain this sound to my doctor. I get it quite a bit just from closing my eyes tightly, i used to only get it when yawning. ive had it for about a year now and im not having any luck with my doc. neither. he put me on claritan, allegra, singulair, & zyrtec. none of which seem to do anything and gave me sinus xrays which came back normal. have you ever had an mri for your problem? im hoping i can talk my doc into giving me one. anyway good luck and keep me updated if you learn anything.
