Hi, my allergies began in early childhood, but it wasn't until I was in my 20's that they took over my everyday life.
Everyone I meet says they've never met anyone with allergies like mine and they are thankful they aren't me.
I go to the doctor and always come out feeling like they think I'm a baby or a hypochondriac, but I have obvious sinus pressure, headaches, itchy throat, fluid in my ears etc...
I tried the allergy shots, which swelled up badly and caused more difficulty than they were worth (went for over a year and dealt with enormous swelling which I report to doc who split dose and lowered several times to no avail).
I finally gave up on that, but man....
I'm frustrated as it seems worse instead of better.
Some days are so frustrating. It's like having a cold every second day (no exageration).
Then, to top it all off, when my nose isn't stuffed up, I have a sore throat or upset stomach due to what I can only assume is post nasal drip.
My ears are always itchy and I also have migraines. As I said, I'm always sick.
I currently have protective covers on my pillows/bed, take clariton daily, have an air exchange in my home, was diagnosed with severe allergies to mold and dust mites (the welts from testing were supposed to go away in 2 hours, instead it took 8 days!!!)
I could really use some support. I'm so tired of being sick and tired. Anyone else suffer from allergies everyday? You'd think I'd be used to it by now which is what I'm told all the time, but I'm not, I'm cranky and irritable beyond belief from not being able to breathe.
