I have come here, because I don't know where else to turn anymore. I have tried allergists, immunologists, and dermatologists with no cure for my red, splotchy to very flaky, uncomfortable face and neck.

I have had the unhappy triad of asthma, environmental alleries and eczema all my life. When I was younger my asthma prevailed, and I would get the common dermatitis in my joints.

About 10 years ago I began noticing red splotches on my neck, aboove my lip and around my eyes. I didn't think anything of it at that time, just thought my eczema was starting to aggrevate these areas. About 6 years ago I started to get very very bad flare ups starting in my face, swollen eyes and face, that would become rashes that progressed throughout my body. At this time I thought I may have food allergies, even though I had been tested before. A doctor then performed the RAST test, and everything I suspected I reacted to at a 3 or 4 out of 6 scale. I then began an elimination diet. I kept fresh garlic, raw onions, all spicy foods, tomatoes, eggplant, corn out of my diet. Still had breakouts, but they got better after I moved and I suspect my residence was very moldy then.

I would still get flare-ups. I went to two new doctor's last year. The one asthma/immunogists said that my IgE level are so extremely high, that they mask my allergies. He said if I didn't get immediate strong reactions when I eat something I probably am not very allergic to it. I began taking 4 allergy shots every week for environmental allergies, along with zyrtec, singulair, albuterol and dulera. I had another patch test done, with no reactions to anything. I have kept spicy foods, garlic, fresh onions, and minimize gluten in my diet.

I have recently wondered if I have a sulfite sensitivity, therefore I eliminated wine and salad dressing vinegrettes out of my diet 3 weeks ago. My house is very minimally dusty. I use free and clear shampoo and conditions which are sulfate, paraben and fragrance free. I do not use perfumes. Only free and clear detergents. I just stopped using the all natural vegan sensitive skin face cleaners and moisturizers. I am still getting a reaction where along my cheekbones, forehead, chin, sometime neck, sometimes lip, and sometimes around the eyes get very very red. During really bad flare up it will itch and hurt. It progresses through the week where the skin will turn very tight and then dry and Extremely flaky. Then it seems to restart the process once its about to be 90% clear again. The only time my skin seems to be flawless and radiant is when I am on predisone, which I really don't like being on. I don't know what else to try, no one has any answers for me.
