Does anyone know how what the life expectancy is for someone diagnosed with ALS and who has started to decline in health. Speech is going rapidly.

Hi, life expectancy is 2-5yrs, my partner is now in her sixth year of ALS, she talks to many pals on-line in which a majority have had ALS over 10-28 years so there is hope.

Good luck

Please seek professional advice. Some loose use of limbs first and then the voice, others just the reverse. Everyone is different and timeframes are also different. Generally for most of us (I have ALS, tested twice) life expectancy as a rule is 2 to 5 years after diagnosis.
Get your information from your doctor and check details from writings on the web for general info. Good luck and God bless.
