... Hi, The bulbar onset of ALS just signifies that the ALS started in the muscles that control speech/swallowing and therefore moves to the respiratory system much quicker. The most common form of ALS is the extremity onset in which a person has involvement in a foot or a hand first and it takes longer to move up to the respiratory system- but it definitely takes away more...
