My mother has been diagnosed as being slightly anemic. Her red blood cell count is 10, whereas it should be at least 13 as we understand it. Her physician has done extensive blood work and found her vitamin levels, iron levels, and all other levels to be just fine. Because no iron, vitamin, or other deficiency was shown, they would like to do a bone marrow test, as we were told in a worst case scenario it could be leukemia.

We are going to wait 3 months, in hopes that her red blood cell count will increase naturally.

Are there any supplements or dietary changes that will help increase this? We are under the impression that as her iron, and vitamin levels are good, taking additional supplements will not help. Is this true?

Any recommendations will be hugely appreciated.

Thank you!
