I'm 28 and have been battling Anemia since August of 2014 that we know of. I wound up in the ER because I was just fighting remaining conscious on a daily basis and my heart and chest would palpitate like a car not wanting to turn over. My HGB was down to 7.9 and B12 down to 153 (but no one mentioned that. I am looking at my labs since it's a problem now). I also had unexplained GI bleeding when they did the test, but endoscopy/colonoscopy turned up nothing. *shrugs* At any rate, 3 doctors now had been in debate whether or not to do a blood transfusion. They didn't. I just take daily iron, no on mentioned the B12 all this time. And my iron has never been above 9.4 in all this time. They still just tell me to take OTC.

I can barely make it through the day now. I'm so tired. I get sore throats without being sick and "Crimson crescents" that people with CFS get. I was like, what is wrong with me? No on thinks it's that serious, but I feel like I'm slowly dying. I had my labs done Monday and my HGB was up to 9.4, Vitamin B12 was 199, and Vit D <12. No one tested that before either. they just tell me to take OTC stuff, but I continue to feel like crap and have horrible muscle and joint pain along with dysmenorrhea and chronic fatigue to the point I fall asleep any time I'm not standing up (driving, working, tv, ect). I wonder if I am just being a wuss. But I see people on forums with levels averaging a lot higher than mine getting infusions and injections. I don't understand and I don't really know what to do.

How long til all this gets better and how?

HGB 9.4 (low)
Vit D <12 (low)
B12 199 (low)
RDW 18.4 (High)
MCHC 30.2 % (Low)
MCV 71 FL (low)
Hematocrit 31.2 (low)
Omg sweetie - get second opinion id recommend going to a functional/integrative Doctor to find out root cause of symptoms. That vitamin D level alone will make you feel very fatigued. Don't take no for answer. FYI I was at vit D level 20 and felt awful. I had other stuff going on like autoimmune disease and adrenal fatigue. You know how you feel - don't stop looking for answers.
