My doctor just prescribed this for my anemia. Has anyone taken this? Is it easy tolerated or is it one that causes side effects?
The three main types are ferrous sulphate, ferrous gluconate, and ferrous fumarate. The main difference among these types is the amount of consumable iron, or specifically what you may come to know as ‘elemental iron’.
You are taking the sulphate, which many people find easier to tolerate. I take gluconate, which has the least elemental iron but for me at least seems to be working well on one tablet a day. I expect you'll do well on the sulphate and it's worth giving it a try. I'm glad you finally got your doctor to prescribe it for you.
