If you are considering going to the doctor, it probably would be a good idea to do it now....just to rule out anything. There are other things besides iron deficiency anemia that can cause fatigue and difficulty concentrating.

Having said that....vitamin C enhances absorption of iron...so eating foods such as fruits, broccoli, and bell peppers would help absorp iron. red meat, as you are considering adding back into your diet is a good source.
Do you drink a lot of coffee or tea? They can inhibit iron absorption.
