Yep, give your body time to realise it actually has extra iron and to store it for use later on. The good news is that you are using it to build your blood suppy and get it back within normal range. It may be that you never store much of it. I sure don't. My Hgl levels do rise and stay up for quite a while but my Ferritin scores rarely improve much.
Low ferritin in and of itself should not cause any symptoms. It's it's effect on your ability to manufacture/replace your blood supply that causes a problem. Being anemic feels crummy-being iron deficient is not a medical condition until/unless it leads to actual anemia. I'm ALWAYS iron deficient but I'm not always anemic--big difference. I'm guessing you've gone a long time with being anemic and it will take some time before your body recovers from its effects. I've often noticed that even though my blood levels have recovered my body was lagging behind! I never felt instantly better.
As for why I'm anemic--5 years with a hematologist, numerous medical tests and multiple infusions later no one knows!! I consistantly pass all my medical tests with flying colors--except the blood test!!!
