... I bought the ferrous sulfate since I didn't know that my body won't react well to it or not without trying it first. I did ask the pharmacy about the poly iron, it's $35 for 100 tabs. :eek: I didn't think that I was taking things lightly. High hemoglobin

... If you just had surgery, you hgb can read on the high side. Your ferritin is very low. While you are not anemic, you will become one if you not increase your ferritin levels. Ferritin should be around 70 that is according to my hematologist. My hgb is always high, but I do run a lot, but my ferritin is always going down and requires me to get infusions all the time. ... THESE are one reason your doc says it's iron deficiency. MCV means mean cell volume and basically indicates the size of your red cells. Less than 80 or so is small, and more than 100 is big. ... (2 replies)
