best to stay calm and not to jump to conclusions. There are nearly 90 different types of anemia. The good news is that anemia is treatable. Your doctor will tell you if anemia is the condition itself or if you have an underlying condition causing it. Regardless, sounds like you're in care of the right type of doctor.
Bone marrow tests really aren't that bad. Go to postings under blood disorders and look for hemolytic anemia or "how long....hemolytic anemia"
I believe there's postings from people that have had bone marrow tests. Most seem to find the hype around the test is worse than the test itself.
The good news is that once you start a treatment program you will start to feel more energetic than you have in quite awhile. My hemoglobin went from 5 to 9 in just under a week after I started treatment.
So try to relax, follow your doctor's orders, and let us know how you're doing.
