Gina--Although you are classed as being mildly anemic, it can make you feel ~really bad~ as you described in your post. I know it's hard to believe, but it's true. It doesn't mean that you have some terrible disease or cancer although that is always a concern for MANY of us. My Ferritin was a 2 and I was ~moderately anemic~ at 8.5 Hgb and it has taken me close to a year to feel better. And my husband had to take care of me.

First, you didn't say if you are still having periods or not. They don't have to be real heavy to cause a problem. Second, did you have your small bowel checked. Sometimes people have problems there that are hard to detect or not checked at all. You might want to discuss this with your GI doc. Just trying to think of things that you didn't already cover in your post.

On the bright side of things your Ferritin did respond well and that it a great thing! That means that your body is working as is should. Some people don't even do that much. Take iron, feel better and keep us posted. FLFLOWERGIRL:)
