Trixibel--They mean you are low in iron. The Serum Iron is the amount of iron that is in the blood stream at the time of testing. This value changes according to what you eat that day, and supplements can effect this as well. Low serum iron and low ferritin = IDA.

All of these tests help in the DX of anemia and tell about the iron. But the more accurate amount of iron stored in the body is based on the Ferritin. And the Hct and Hgb on the CBC are the values they use to DX anemia. FLFLOWERGIRL:)
